Life Sciences Delivery and Development Manager
Aberdeen (ONE BioHub, Foresterhill Campus)

We are delighted to be partnering with Opportunity North East (ONE) to recruit a Life Sciences Delivery and Development Manager. This role will help grow Scotland's life sciences ecosystem from ONE BioHub in Aberdeen.

The role

Working closely with the Director of ONE Life Sciences and ONE BioHub, you will be the growth and relationship lead for the sector. You will turn strategy into well-managed delivery on the ground, and you will build the tenant, founder, partner and investor relationships that help the sector grow.

Day to day, you will:

  • Lead delivery of the Sector Operating Plan, tracking milestones, KPIs and risks
  • Be the commercial and tenancy contact for ONE BioHub, taking prospective tenants from enquiry and viewing through to lease agreement
  • Grow and manage the venture pipeline, supporting founders and portfolio companies through the Venture Building Model
  • Plan and deliver sector events and convening activity to budget
  • Support budget monitoring, funding claims and compliance with grant conditions
  • Support governance and reporting, including board papers, KPI dashboards and audit processes
  • Coordinate suppliers, contractors and any junior team members supporting delivery

About you

You are organised, commercially minded and relationship-driven. You are comfortable in a small, fast-paced team and you follow through on detail.

Essential:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Operational delivery experience in a life sciences, innovation, research commercialisation or similarly technical environment
  • Experience in an incubator, shared workspace or innovation centre, from a commercial or tenant engagement perspective
  • Business development or sales experience, ideally securing tenants, members or clients
  • Experience administering budgets, contracts or funding claims
  • CRM experience for managing pipelines and programme data
  • Experience planning and delivering events
  • Experience supporting founders, portfolio companies or businesses in an account management or relationship-coordination role
  • A track record of delivering projects to time, budget and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel within Scotland and work flexibly across sites

Desirable:

  • Project or programme management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, AgilePM)
  • Knowledge of the Scottish and UK life sciences ecosystem and funding landscape (NESIZ, Innovate UK, UKRI, Scottish Enterprise)
  • Experience supporting board or governance processes
  • Training in venture support methodologies (e.g. MIT Disciplined Entrepreneurship, Lean LaunchPad)

Why apply?

  • Play a central role in building a high-growth life sciences hub, with real influence on sector strategy
  • Work with founders, partners and investors across the Scottish and UK ecosystem
  • Join an organisation committed to public value, inclusion and continuous learning

Opportunity North East is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
